OnePlus has apparently discontinued the sales of its original 2016 flagship, the OnePlus 3. The announcement comes after the launch of the OnePlus 3T.
If you read our covergae of the OnePlus 3T news, we termed it as a "not so awe inspiring" device, because its technical specifications are very similar to that of the OnePlus 3, with a slight upgrade in some areas.
The 3T just has a better front camera, 400mAh of extra battery capacity, a Snapdragon 821 chipset which offers a slightly better performance experience. These are also good reasons, as to why OnePlus should not want to sell identical phones. Android Authority says it has official confirmation from OnePlus, about the OnePlus 3 being discontinued in the US and EU. But the Chinese OEM is yet to announce the news publicly. IT is a shame that such a popular device has been discontinued so soon, and the company is already drawing flak for the same from OnePlus 3 users, especially those who bought the device recently.
The OnePlus 3 is still available in India, and we are not sure if or when the 3T will be launched here, although chances are high it will be, considering that OnePlus may not be spending its funds to manufacture two variants of its phones just for our Country.
