The Ockel Sirius A is a device, which brings innovation to a whole new level. The Dutch company has partnered with Microsoft, to bring the world's smallest PC. Don't mistake it for a mobile phone or a tablet, its actually a full desktop computer, with proper Windows, and a display, something which surpasses the IoT device we know as the Raspberry Pi.
Here's what the Ockel Sirius A boasts in terms of hardware. The device sports a 6 inch Full HD 1080p display, and runs on Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system. It is powered by the latest Intel Attom x7-Z8750 chipset which has a quad core processor clocked at 1.6GHz (up to 2.5GHz), and 4GB of RAM. The graphics will be handled by an Intel HD Graphics 405 GPU, which supports external displays of 4K and UHD resolutions.
So you can plug in the Ockel Sirius A to a monitor and have a full-scale PC experience. You can even connect it to a TV or speakers to stream movies, songs, etc from Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, etc. It can also play locally stored files too. IT comes with 64GB of onboard storage, and a microSD card for expandable storage. And thanks to its sufficient memory you will be able to play computer games on it too. The Sirius A comes with a front facing camera, speakers, and a microphone, so you can video chat on Skype or other services with ease.
The device is so small, you can literally put it into your pocket. Yet it comes with ports found on laptops and desktops. This includes two USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C, a full size HDMI port, a full size Display port, an RJ-45 port, a 3.55mm audio jack for headsets. It also supports Wi-Fi AC, and Bluetooth.
The Sirius A has three sensors: an accelerometer, a gyroscope (maybe useful for VR), and a magnetometer, and is backed by a 3000 mAh Lithium Polymer battery. The Sirius A comes in threee colors, Moon Silver, Meteor Grey and Venus Gold, and comes in a metal body made of anodized Aluminium.
And interestingly, when you connect the Ockel Sirius A to an external display, the Sirius A switches to an input device, which you can use as a keyboard or a mouse, while the monitor becomes the primary display. You can also connect an external mouse and/or keyboard, or a gamepad to the Sirius A's USB 3.0 ports or Bluetooth.

The design on the device is actually of the Canis Major star constellation, (where the real Sirius A star is found), and acts as a heat sink, which dissipates heat produced by the device, without any cooling fan. This means it is completely silent. The Ockel Sirius A went on a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo this week, where it met its goal, in a single day. You can still back the device for $549 and above (shipping not included). The Ockel Sirius A will be available from May 2017.
