Indian Railways has teamed up with RailTel, to provide free Wi-Fi facility for the passengers at the Bangalore City railway station.
They have also partnered with TELliBrahma, to provide Bluetooth connectivity.
Jointly, the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi service is called BluFi, and will provide a variety of services. Switching on Bluetooth on your device will allow you to access to videos, games, wallpapers, and Railway information such as PNR status. To access the free WiFi at the station, a user must send an SMS to request internet connectivity, after which a password will be sent to their mobile number.
RailTel is providing the service, under their RailWire Retail Broadband project.
The Silicon Valley of India is the second Indian city to get free W-Fi, after Chennai, which received it last month, at the Central Station.
