Details of 533 million Facebook users were published on a hacking forum. The data includes phone numbers, full names, location, email address, and biographical information. Business insider confirmed the news earlier and Facebook says the data is collected using an old vulnerability which was fixed in 2019. So the data scraped may be more than a year old, but still the details like phone numbers, full names, location, email address, and biographical information might not be changed.
How to Check your details leaked
To check if your email address or Phone number were leaked, you can use a website called Have I Been Pwned. Just enter your Email address of Phone number and search, it will display in which all breaches (not only this Facebook breach) your details are leaked. It is always recommended to enable Two factor authentication if it is available by the service provider. You can do this for your social media accounts, Email accounts etc. Also when ever possible “avoid” using Facebook to sign in to other websites. Revoke permissions for applications which you don't use.
