Kaspersky Labs has announced something which many of the company's users have been waiting for, a free antivirus. This should effectively startle its competitors, and for good reason.
Kaspersky Free Antivirus was in beta in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, China, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, before the global announcement.
Eugene Kaspersky, in his announcement for Kaspersky Free Antivirus, said that the free version will offer the same level of security as the paid versions do, for the real-time and on-access antivirus protection. And the application will have zero ads, zilch, nada. The only features it won't have are the premium offerings like Parental Control, Online Payment Protection, and Secure Connection (VPN). Kaspersky Free is also lighter on system resources than the company's other products, and includes file, web, IM and mail anti-virus.
That is super awesome indeed. Kaspersky has been regarded as the best antivirus for computers, by a lot of users. And we at Geekiest are of the same opinion, having been using Kaspersky Internet Security for about 5 years or so continously. We have pretty much had a good experience with the antivirus, and have had zero malware infections on any of our computers.
