Popcap Games have released a gameplay trailer for their upcoming game, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.
Unlike the other games in the series, this will cooperative third-person shooter and tower defense game. You can take control of your plants by switching to a third person perspective and defend against oncoming waves of Zombies.
The graphics are stunning and is based on the Frostbite 3 game engine, which was developed by Popcap’s parent company, Electronic Arts.
The bad news is, the game will not have a Singleplayer mode at all.
The game will have Zombie Cosmonauts and a Giant Pirate Ship too. The game’s predecessor, Plants vs. Zombies 2 has a Pirate Sea campaign which takes place on a Pirate Ship. A Space campaign called "Far Future" is set to be released sometime this year for PvZ 2.
So, I think we can safely assume that the Cosmonaut from Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare could also arrive as one of the Zombies in the Space campaign in PvZ 2.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is available for pre-order for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PCs. The game will be released exclusively for the Xbox One & Xbox 360 on February 25 in North America and February 20 in Europe. The game will be released for PCs in Spring.
A PlayStation 4 version is also in the works.
