Samsung has launched the Galaxy A8+ 2018 in India. The phone was officially announced last month, before its debut in our Country.
The Galaxy A8+ 2018 sports a 6.0-inch 18:9 aspect ratio Super AMOLED Infinity Display, with a resolution of 2220 x 1080p Full HD+, and 410 PPI. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with support for Samsung’s Bixby digital assistant.
The phone is powered by an Exynos 7885 octa-core processor with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The device is a microSD card slot which supports up to 256GB of expandable memory.
The Galaxy A8+ 2018 has a single rear camera with a 16 megapixels lens, an f/1.7 aperture and supports PDAF (Phase Detect Auto Focus). The phone has dual front cameras with a 16 megapixels fixed focus lens and an 8 megapixels sensor, both of which have an f/1.9 aperture.
The phone has a fingerprint scanner placed below the rear camera, and supports face recognition for unlocking the phone quickly. Other sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, a barometer, a gyro sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a hall Sensor, a proximity sensor, and an RGB light sensor. Connectivity options on the A8+ 2018 includes a Dual SIM tray with MicroSD (Hybrid), 4G LTE with VoLTE, NFC, MST for Samsung Pay, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80, 256QAM, Bluetooth v 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), ANT+, GPS, Glonass, BeiDou.
The device is backed by a 3,500 mAh battery with support for Fast Charging over USB Type-C. The phone measures at 159.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm, weighs 191g and is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
The Samsung Galaxy A8+ 2018 has been priced at Rs. 32,990 in India, and will go on sale from January 20th on Amazon India. The phone will be available in Black and Gold colours.
