Xiaomi or the Apple of China has won many hearts by producing affordable and quality handsets, a trend which has reinstituted the faith of many Indians on Chinese OEMs. The Redmi series has been one of the most popular handsets which gave a chase to the well known king of budget devices, aka the Moto- G. The Redmi Note provided a great flagship experience for those who wanted the extra large screens on their mobile.
Now Xiaomi is all ready to launch its successor which is the Redmi Note 2. In India last year due to a few patent issues, Xiaomi was not able to continue selling their Dual SIM mediaTek chipset based Redmi Note and were only allowed to sell the Single-SIM Qualcomm powered Redmi Note. I hope this year, the dual SIM device gets launched as well, since most Indian users have two SIMS anyways including me here.
Lets move on to the tech-specs part a bit:-

If we see Note 2 has a smaller screen size than the original one. This is infact good news since 5.5” seems the sweet-spot between a large screen and an easy to carry mobile. It will also be slimmer. The leaked specs were seen at TENAA, which is the Chinese telecom certifier. The picture is just attached above. The device will run MIUI 6 based on Android Kitkat. It seems to be a good device and will definitely get some custom ROM development support, thanks to the Snapdragon Chipset.
