Warcraft 4 and Starcraft 3 are definitely possible, says Blizzard’s Tim Morten

Blizzard Entertainment could be working on a sequel series for the popular franchises StarCraft and Warcraft.

In an interview to gaming blog, IGN, Tim Morten, the producer of the upcoming Starcraft II expansion.

Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void will feature a single-player campaign where the player will control the Protoss. completing a circle of the three playable races in the series. The first Startcraft II game, Wings of Liberty featured a single-player campaign where the player controlled the Humans, while the Heart of the Swarm expansion was focused on a Zerg campaign.

Legacy of the Void is expected to be released in the last quarter of this year. According to Morten, the expansion does not spell the end of the series, but is merely the end of the story for the characters in Starcraft II. He said, that once work on the expansion is complete, Blizzard will begin discussing about more games for Warcraft, Starcraft, or even a brand new game, as Blizzard is aware of the demand for Real-Time Strategy games, and that the company

Warcraft 3 was released over 12 years ago, but is still considered as one of the finest RTS games ever made, and it would be really amazing if Warcraft returns to its RTS roots. Blizzard is however known to take an incredibly long time for developing its games, so we can expect a new game to only be released after a year or two.
