Tropico 6 announced for Windows PC, PS4 and Xbox One: Features islands, World Wonders, Raids, Bridges, New Transports and more

Tropico 6, the sixth iteration in the Banana Republic management simulator franchise, has been announced at E3 2017. Kalypso Media is the publisher, while Limbic Entertainment is the new developer of the popular strategy series, has posted a number of video trailers for the upcoming game.

Tropico 6 World Wonders

The new game will be bigger, better, and have more features than its predecessor. Whether it will be as good as Tropico 4, remains to be seen.

Tropico 6 will let you play as the iconic, El Presidente, and will let you manage your nation as a dictator, or a peace loving statesman. The game is built using Unreal Engine 4, and early videos and screenshots do look impressive. The game’s major change is the inclusion of archipelagos. You will be able to manage multiple islands simultaneously, and build bridges, tunnels, etc. New transport systems such as aerial cable cars, buses, and taxis will help your citizens and tourists move around. The palace is customizable, and can be used for giving election speeches (with fake promises) from the building’s balcony.

Tropico 6

Tropico 6 adds World Wonders and Monuments, such as the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, etc., which you can steal (yes we know it sounds bizzare), using your agents, whom you can send on raids to foreign lands. You can then place the wonders in your own nation. There is a new research system, using which you can fine tune your political aspects, on the way to become the greatest dictator in the World.  Tropico 6 has co-operative and competitive multiplayer, using which up to four players can play on a single map.

There is no concrete date for the release of Tropico 6, only that it will be launched sometime in 2018.

Tropico 6 will be available for Windows PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game has been listed on Steam, although the price is not mentioned.

The only thing that worries me, is that Tropico 6 is not exclusive to Windows PC. It will also be available for PS4 and Xbox One, and you know what that means.  Consoles do not have the pin point precision of a mouse, and hence the game will likely be optimized to be controller friendly. In other words, it may not have complex menus, and strategy which the other games in the series feature,
