Telegram, the popular WhatsAppp competitor, has been updated to version 3.16. And the update for the Android app, brings in a slew of new features.
You can now delete messages which you have sent, and it will be deleted for everyone in the chat. Simply tap the message and hit delete, and confirm the action. The Telegram app now displays the Network Usage stats of WiFi and Mobile networks separately. This can be accessed from the 'Data and Storage' Settings menu option.
One of Telegram’s biggest headaches was the scroll position of a chat, when you switch to a different chat and come back. This has been fixed, and the app now remembers the scroll position correctly. In addition to this, scrolling up a chat, now displays a floating date on top of the screen. Earlier, it used to only display the date above the first message of the day’s conversation. Messages from a sender will be displayed in a grouped manner,
Tapping on the file share option, now displays recently downloaded files. There are four new emojis in Telegram now: the cowboy, the clown, the sick face and the shrug guy and girl.
Gboard users can send GIFs directly from the keyboard, but Telegram’s @GIF bot does the job better perhaps. And if for some reason you get spam in Secret chats, you can report them.
