The news puts an end to rumours, which suggested that the Korean Elecronics giant, would be showcasing the phone before April.

This also marks the end of Samsung's traditional MWC launch event for its flagship Galaxy phone. Dong-Jin did not comment about when the Samsung Galaxy S8 would be launched, so there is still a bit of mystery left for fans to wonder about.

It is likely that the delay is due to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s recall, and eventual discontinuationn. So, Samsung may be testing the quality of its Galaxy S8 a bit more extensively, than usual. We have already seen a report which did mention, that part suppliers could also play a role in the delayed launch of the Galaxy S8, based on which Samsung also wants to make sure that there are more units of the S8 available for sale, directly after the device is launched.
