The Samsung Galaxy S8 will undoubtedly be one of the phones to look out for in 2017. And here is what we know about the phone so far.
According to leaked images of the device, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a bezel less design, ala dual edge curved AMOLED display. The biggest surprise here is that there is no physical home button on the front panel. There is no finger print scanner on the back panel either. This suggests that we are looking at a possible Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner, which may be embedded in the display.
The S8 will come in two display variants, a 5.7-inch 2k display and a 6.2 inch 2K display, both of which feature Dual Edge screens, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The 5.7-inch phone will be the Samsung Galaxy S8 , while the one with the bigger display will be called Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. So, it is likely that there is no regular screen variant. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is widely rumoured to be powered by the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 835 processor, along with 6GB of RAM. The device will also come in a variant powered by its in-house Samsung Exynos processor.
These real world images, seem pretty similar to the press renders featured above (except for the front camera and sensors) .
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is touted to sport a 12 Megapixel Dual Pixel camera with Phase Detect Auto Focus,Optical Image Stabilization, and a Dual Color Tone LED Flash. It is unclear whether it will have an Iris scanner on the front panel, or if the front camera will double up as an Iris scanner.
A new set of leaked renders from a case maker, suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S8 may not come with USB Type-C, but with the older micro-USB port. This contradicts the second image in this article, which does show a USB Type C connector.
But thankfully, there is still a headphone jack on the phone. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature two speakers one on the top, and one on the bottom, as is evidenced by the images below. The power button and volume rocker keys are on the left edge of the device’s frame. Speaking of which the phone does seem to sport a metal unibody display.
One of the latest leaks, suggests that both the Samsung Galaxy S8, and the S8 Plus could come with S-Pen, the stylus pen, which until now remains an excusive feature for the company’s Note series. The following cases do show the S-Pen port, but it is worth noting, that the USB port is way off of the other leaks, so we are not sure about the credibility of the leak.

A twitter user, Ricciolo has hinted that that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be announced at the MWC tech show, but will not be showcased to the majority of the World (likely just to larger media firms). The device will be available from Week 17 (April 24-30th) with April 29th mentioned as the date, for $849. That translates to around Rs. 58,000 .
Leaks are not meant to be taken as the real deal, always take them with a pinch of salt.
