Microsoft will announce Windows 10 consumer features at January press event

Microsoft is busy preparing the successor to Windows 8.1.

They unveiled the OS on September 30, and announced that it will be released sometime in 2015.

Windows 10 is designed to run on PCs, Xbox One, phones and tablets. The Redmond company released a technical preview of it, which you can download for free. (See the bottom of this article for the link). The Verge reports that Microsoft will hold a press conference in January, where it will unveil the Consumer Preview of Windows 10, and explain some new features of the OS. It is said that the company will also detail it’s plans for the future including its Windows phones, tablets, and its gaming console, the Xbox One.

You can download the Technical Preview of Windows 10, for free in an ISO format, from Microsoft’s website. It is rumored that Microsoft will be releasing Windows 10 as a free update for the users who bought Windows 8.1.
