Earlier today, we reported that Reliance Jio has extended its Welcome offer till March 31st. The new plan, which begins on December 4th, for new users is called the Jio Happy New Year offer.
There are some important things to note about the new offer.
Jio 1GB Data cap per day:
First, the 4GB data cap per day, is being reduced to 1GB per day. This only applies to new users under the New Year Offer. Refer to this page on Jio's support portal for more details. However, the Welcome Offer users, currently under the 4GB/day plan will be shifted to the 1GB/day plan, with effect from 1st January, i.e., after the Welcome Offer expires on December 31st. Jio introduces its first paid data packs:
Jio has introduced 2 data packs for users who would like to use more data, beyond the 1GB FUP limit. Prepaid and postpaid Jio users can get one of the two data packs, whose tariff are as follows:
- Rs. 51 – 1 GB (1 day validity)
- Rs. 301 – 6 GB (28 days validity)
The 1GB paid data plan seems to be expensive compared to the 6GB for 28 days plan.
