While addressing entrepreneurs at a NITI Aayog program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that
“Padma awards in past were given on ministers’ recommendation. We removed this barrier and made it open to anyone for nomination. We have made a small reform. Now anyone can recommend a person for Padma award online. Now, unknown heroes are getting recognized,”
Government so far received more than 2500 nominations for the Padma Awards 2018.
So If you want to nominate a person for Padma Award How to do that ?
First of all visit the website http://www.padmaawards.gov.in, and you need to have an account to Nominate. Create one if you do not have.
Select the type of your account
You can either use Aadhaar number as identification number or you will have to upload ID proofs
Using Aadhaar
If you do not want to use your Aadhaar, or you do not have it you can choose the “Don’t have Aadhaar” option
An OTP will be sent to your mobile number and after confirming it you will have to enter some other personal details.
Make sure you note down the login ID displayed on the Screen, because you will not get any email or SMS with that ID.
if you forgot your Login ID, send a mail with your name and phone number(Email address can be collected from the contact page of the website)
After login in, Select New Nomination from the left menu. You can either nominate yourself, or can nominate another person by filling the details.
On the second stage of the application you will have to enter citation and upload Photo and other documents
The last date for receipt of the nominations for the Padma Awards 2018 is September 15, 2017.
