Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary World Tour to be released on October 11th for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Gearbox software has officially announced the launch of the remake of its game, Duke Nukem 3D. The new game is special because, it comes 20 years after the original was launched.

Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary World Tour

The game has been named as Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour. That's a very small name, if you ask me.

The 20th Anniversary edition features voice acting by Jon St. John, the man who voiced the original Duke. Likewise, the game's music score was done by the same composer, Lee Jackson, and a new Episode Five was created by llen Blum III and Richard “Levelord” Gray, who created the original 4.

Episode 5 sees Duke wage war upon the Alien World Order, and new Firefly enemies. There is a new weapon called the Incinerator which will roast the baddies. The game uses the original 1996 source code and a new 2.5D engine which has been re-mastered in True 3D for Windows 10, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.

That being said, the game just has 8 new levels, and a graphics update. The other four episodes are exactly the same as the original. This makes the game kind of worse than  Duke Nukem Forever, which is widely regarded as the worst in the series.

You can pre-order Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour for $20 from Steam, the Microsoft Xbox Store, and the PlayStation Store.

Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour Trailer

In my personal opinion, if you are a true fan of Duke Nukem games, give this game a miss. 20 bucks is not worth it for 8 new levels and an updated engine. Save your money and wait for a sale on gems like Wolfenstein The New Order, or RPGs like Elder Scrolls III, IV and V or Fall Out 3, New Vegas or 4.

ICYMI, Bethesda is going to release an updated graphics engine for Skyrim called Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Enhanced Edition, which will be free for users who have the Legendary Edition or the base game with all DLCs. And more recently, THQ Nordic released Titan Quest Anniversary Edition, and gave it away for free to users who had the base game and/or the expansion, Immortal Throne.

This is how you impress fans.
