THQ Nordic is recreating the magic of remastering older games to top notch quality, and the game to receive this treatment is the popular hack and slash RPG, Darksiders.
The new version of the Dark Souls like game, is called Darksiders Warmastered Edition, and is available on Steam. That's not all, existing owners of the game, get the new version for free.
You may need to restart the Steam client to see the game in your library. Now to the features of Darksiders Warmastered Edition. The game now supports 4K video resolutions, and has double the texture resolutions, cutscenes and shadow rendering have been improved, and so have the post processing effects. The Warmastered edition has optimized framerate, FOW, AA, texture filtering, windowed and fullscreen mode, and native support for the Steam Controller. The game comes with Steam Trading Cards, which you can use for crafting a badge or sell for Steam wallet funds.
It is unclear if the game will work on 32-bit versions of the Windows operating system, but the system requirements no longer mention the bit-architecture. The game will not work on Windows XP or Vista, and now requires Windows 7 and above to run. You need 4 times the amount of RAM, with 4GB being the new minimum requirement, and 8GB for max graphics. Storage has also increased, by 3x to be specific, making a jump from 12GB to 36GB. You are going to need Direct X 11, and a Dual Core cPU from AMD or Intel to simply run the game.

This is not the first time THQ Nordic has given away a remastered edition of a game for free, it did so recently, with the launch of the Titan Quest Anniversary Edition. If you don’t have Darksiders already, you can get it for a discounted price on Seam, and also get Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition for cheap as well. The two games in a bundle cost just Rs. 339.
