Anti Malware Test Lab is an independent organization which conducts security software tests and shares them with users. They have published their latest test results. Following the testing, the best-performing antivirus solutions are given awards as per the following criteria:
The Platinum Malware Treatment Award is given if an antivirus cures over 95% malware.
The Gold Malware Treatment Award is given if an antivirus cures over 80% malware.
The Silver Malware Treatment Award is given if an antivirus cures over 60% malware.
The Bronze Malware Treatment Award is given if an antivirus cures over 40% malware.
In their latest test results, none of the currently available antivirus solutions could get the Platinum Award. But Dr.Web Anti-Virus 5.00 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 both wins the Gold Malware Treatment Award with 81% healing capability.
Avast! Professional Edition 4.8 and Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0 has 63% healing capability and holds the Silver Malware Treatment Award.
