ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie single/dual camera variants, Selfie Pro launched in India

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie series has been launched in India. The devices which were unveiled a month ago, have a new addition to the series, a single camera variant.

The Zenfone 4 Selfie series devices have a front facing fingerprint scanner, and dual selfie cameras. All three variants support portrait mode on the front and the rear cameras, front and rear LED flash. The devices sport a 5.5-inch 720p HD IPS display with 400 nits brightness and blue-light filter, with 2.5D curved glass, and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Zen UI 4.0 with Twin Apps for using two separate accounts on apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram. The Pro variant has a 1080p Full HD AMOLED display with 500 nits brightness, 76.7% screen-to-body ratio, and over 100% NTSC color gamut.

The Taiwan based company has promised that the devices will be upgraded to Android Oreo in the future.  All variants in the series support Micro-USB 2.0, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS, and are backed by a 3000 mAh battery. The Phones have Dual internal microphones with ASUS Noise Reduction Technology, and a 5-magnet speaker for louder sound and less distortion.

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie ZB553KL is powered by a 1.4GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 processor with an Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The device has 32GB of internal storage, and supports up to expandable up to 2TB with the a triple card system where users can use a microSD card slot, and two SIM cards. The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie ZD553KL dual camera variant also supports triple cards, but has 64GB of storage. The Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro ZD552KL which has 64GB of storage, only has a hybrid dual SIM card tray.

The Zenfore 4 Selfie has a 13 megapixels rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF), and a dual tone LED flash. The selfie lens on the device, is a 13 megapixels front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and soft LED flash. The phone weighs 144g, and measures at 155.66 x 76.2 x 7.85 mm.

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie (dual) is identical to the single camera variant except for some changes. It has 4GB of RAM, and dual selfie cameras: one which is a 20 megapixels lens with soft LED Flash and an f/2.2 aperture, and a secondary 8 megapixels camera with a 120-degree wide-angle lens with  an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera is a 16MP Sony image sensor with dual-tone LED flash and an f/2.2 aperture.

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro ZD552KL is powered by a 2.0 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor, with 4GB of RAM, and an Adreno 506 GPU. The rear camera is a 16MP camera with dual tone LED Flash and PDAF. The phone has dual front cameras comprising of a 12 MP Sony IMX362 dual-pixel image sensor, with an f/1.8 aperture, 1/2.55″ sensor size, 1.4µm pixel size, and another 12MP camera with a 120°wide-angle lens.

The phone supports Hi-Res Audio 192kHz/24-bit standard, has a 5-magnet speaker with NXP Smart Amp and supports DTS for headphone. All three phones support 3-axis EIS for rear camera, but the Selfie Pro also supports it for the selfie lens. The Pro variant supports 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) video recording at 30fps and 1080p HD video recording at 60fps, while the Selfie variants support Full HD at 30 fps video recording.

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie has been priced at Rs. 9,999 (single camera variant) and Rs. 14,999 (dual camera variant), and will be available in Rouge Red, Sunlight Gold, Deepsea Black colours. The ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro has been priced at Rs. 23,999 and will be available in Deepsea Black, Rose Pink, Sunlight Gold colours.
