Using Radmin requires no special knowledge or configuration. Basically, two separate installations are required for Radmin to operate:
1. A Radmin Server that is required to be installed on the PC which is to be accessed (or controlled) remotely by you.
2. A Radmin Viewer that is required to be installed on the local PC from where you will be accessing the remote PC (where the Radmin Server is installed). You may also opt to go for the portable viewer, which requires no installation. Just carry it in your usb and access the remote PC.
You have to have the Radmin server running on the remote PC, so that it can be accessed remotely. Make sure that the remote PC is accessible either over TCP-IP or LAN to access it remotely. For example, while trying to set-up Radmin for the first time it took me a while to configure the access to remote PC. The reason being that the remote PC was behind a firewall and had a local IP as usual. Therefore, I had to configure the router of the remote PC to redirect the (incoming & outgoing) access for the specific port (defined in Radmin) to the remote PC. Once the access was set, it was a child’s play to control the remote PC.
Unlike other free and paid remote access software's, Radmin allows you to view the remote PC either in a window or in a full-screen display. Moreover, all mouse movements and keystrokes entries are transferred directly to the remote PC without experiencing any delay. Additionally, you can also transfer files to / from the remote PC, and even communicate with the remote PC by either text chat or voice chat. In simple words, there is nothing that you can't do on the remote PC, without being there physically.

Radmin provides different modes of connections to the remote PC:
1. Full Control - provides complete control to remote PC.
2. View Only - a restricted control for only viewing the remote PC.
3. Telnet - a text-mode connection to the remote PC which enables you to use system commands and launch text-mode applications without a graphical interface.
4. File Transfer - this mode allows you to access files and folders of remote PC. It even supports two-way file transfer operations.
5. Shutdown - this mode allows you to shut down the remote PC.
6. Chat - to communicate to someone at the remote PC through a text chat.
7. Voice Chat - to communicate to someone at the remote PC through voice chat. This is extremely useful as it eliminates the need of making a phone call to the person at the other end, and wasting money on phone bills. Moreover, it also eliminates the need of using any VOIP based software to save on phone bills.
8. Send Message - this helps you to send a text message that pops up on the remote computer. Useful in cases when you want to leave a message for the user at the remote end.
9. Intel AMT (Active Management Technology) - this is a special connection that empowers you to turn a remote computer On or Off, manage the remote PC’s BIOS settings, control the remote PC’s boot process even before the operating system is loaded, and even boot the remote computer from a local CD or from an ISO file. Furthermore, you can even perform a "Cold Restart" to bring up the remote PC from a 'hang' caused by a 'Blue Screen' error state (aka BSOD- Blue Screen of Death), a network configuration failure or any other problem.
Radmin also has in-built security feature wherein you can add a user whom you want to provide remote access. Additionally, you can also allow access to a user, based on Windows NT security.
