Amazon India has confirmed that it will be carrying the OnePlus 5 exclusively on its store. The online retail giant, has posted a banner on its website for the same.
Yesterday we reported that the OnePlus 5 will be launched on June 20th globally, while the device will be launched on June 22nd on India.
And now for some bad news about the device, if you are planning to buy the OnePlus 5 on launch day, it may or may not happen. It appears that the dreaded invite system to buy a OnePlus device is back. We cannot say this for sure, but here's what makes us think the OnePlus invites are back.
On the launch page for the OnePlus 5, on its India website, the company mentions that anybody can buy a ticket for the event for 999 Rs which includes some goodies, etc.
The last line on the page, is what concerns us. This is what it says,
"Invite holders will receive a OnePlus 5 invite code at the launch event."
Now, this could be some early bird buyer bonus, or the company is really facing low inventory issues, and is reverting to the invite system. We can only know this for sure when the OnePlus 5 is launched on June 22nd.
