The Oppo R15 has been launched in China, along with a Dream Mirror Edition. Both phones feature a 6.2-inch OLED displays with a Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, in the 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Oppo R15 has a notch which is similar to that on the iPhone X. The phones run on Android 8.1 Oreo, with ColorOS 5.0 on top, which supports Face Unlock and a new AI assistant. The phones have a fingerprint sensor on the back panel.
The Oppo R15 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 processor with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, while the R15 Dream Mirror Edition has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and an Adreno 512 GPU. The phones have 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and support up to 256GB of expandable memory via a microSD card.
The primary camera set up on the Oppo R15 comprises of a 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition has a 16MP Sony IMX519 camera with an f/1.7 aperture, and a 20MP lens also with an f/1.7 aperture. The devices have a 20MP selfie lens, with an f/2.0 aperture.
The only other difference is that the R15 is packed with a 3450 mAh battery, while the Dream Mirror is backed by a 3400 mAh battery, both of which support VOOC flash charging over micro USB. Connectivity options on the devices include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and Dual SIM cards.
The Oppo R15 will be available in 3 colours: Hot Red, Snow White, and Star Purple. The R15 Dream Mirror Edition will be available in two colours: Dream Red and Ceramic Black.
The Oppo R15 has been priced at 2999 RMB (which is about Rs. 30,000 or $474) , while the Dream Mirror Edition will retail for 3299 RMB (about Rs. 34,000 or $521).
There is a very good chance that the OnePlus 6 looks like the Oppo R15. This is based on the company’s history, the OnePlus 5 was practically identical to the Oppo R11, and theOnePlus 5T resembled the R11S.
