The OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant has been launched in India. The red colour version of the flagship phone was launched recently in China, and termed as a limited edition.
The press release for the Lava Red edition does not mention the words “limited edition”, so we think that it could be available on a larger scale here. The device has a new wallpaper to match its aesthetics, but is otherwise identical to the higher end OnePlus 5T Midnight Black version.
To recap the phone’s tech specs, the OnePlus 5T features a 6-inch FullHD+ 2160 x 1080 resolution, Optic Amoled display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and an all-metal unibody. The device runs on OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with an Oreo update in the works. There is a beta version of Android 8.0 Oreo which you can flash on the OnePlus 5T. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa core processor, with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage. The device packs a 3,300 mAh battery which supports Dash Charging.
The photography hardware on the OnePlus 5T comprise of dual rear cameras with a 20 megapixels lens with an f/1.7 aperture, 1.12 µm pixel size, and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) and a 16 megapixels sensor. The selfie lens on the phone is a 16 megapixels front camera.
The OnePlus 5T supports Face Unlock and has a fingerprint scanner on the back panel. Connectivity options on the device include dual nano SIM cards with dual-standby (4G+4G), NFC, WiFi, GSM, (B2/B1/B41/B3/B5/B40/B41C), 3G, UMTS, (B1), 4G LTE, FDD, TDD, (B38), TDS, (B34), Bluetooth.
The OnePlus 5T Lava Red variant will be available on open sale from from 12 Noon on January 20th in India, and carries the same price tag of Rs. 37,999 as the Black variant. There is no word yet whether the Sandstone White version will be launched in India.
