HMD Global has launched the Nokia 1 Android Go Edition, in India. The phone is an entry level device, which runs on Google’s special Oreo 8.1 stock Android version, which is called Android Go Edition, and is intended for devices with 1GB of RAM.
The Nokia 1 sports a 4.5-inch FWGA IPS display, and is powered by a quad-core 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737M processor. The device has 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and supports up to 128GB of expandable memory via a microSD card slot.
The phone features a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, and a 2MP selfie camera. The Nokia 1 is backed by a 2,150 mAh battery which charges over MicroUSB 2.0. The phone is IP52 certified to be Drip resistant, weighs 131g and measures at 133.6 x 67.78 x 9.5mm.
The device suports dual Nano SIM cards with LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/AGPS. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio, a Proximity sensor, an Ambient light sensor and a G-sensor.
The Nokia 1 Android Go Edition has been priced at Rs. 5,499 in India, and will be available in 2 colours: Warm Red and Dark Blue. The phone will be sold in all major outlets in the Country. The device is priced a bit on the expensive side, considering the low specs. You may be better off getting a Moto or Redmi device for the price.
