A month ago, a massive leak regarding the Moto X5, Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, Moto G6 Play was leaked along with some press renders and the technical specifications. Today, Andri Yatim has leaked new renders of the Moto G6, the Moto G6 Plus and the Moto G6 Play along with more details about the specifications and the prices.
The Moto G6 pictured above is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, and the device supports NFC. The phone is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. The Moto G6 Plus has a 3,250 mAh battery, to go with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. The Moto G6 Play has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, but a much larger battery at 4,000 mAh.
With Xiaomi having launched a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 powered phone in the Redmi Note 5 Pro, and Nokia prepping for a similar specced Nokia 7+ (which was leaked earlier today), you may have expected a similar offering from Motorola, but sadly that isn’t the case. The leaker did mention that Motorola has used a better GPU and throttled processor for improved battery life though.
All three phones in the Moto G6 series have displays with 18:9 aspect ratios, and a home button which houses the fingerprint scanner. According to Yatim, these are the prices of the Moto G6 series. The Moto G6 price in in India will be Rs. 12,000, while the Moto G6 Plus will retail for Rs. 15,000 and the Moto G6 Play for Rs. 17,000.
Now, those icons don’t look like stock Android, right? Don’t worry though, because the leaker says that these renders are from a Chinese telecom service, and that the global variants should run on stock Android per usual. This was evidenced in last month’s leaked renders as well.
Motorola could be launching the Moto G6 line-up during the Mobile World Congress 2018, at the end of this month, in Barcelona.
