The Intel 8th Gen Processors with AMD Radeon RX Vega M Graphics have officially been announced at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 (CES 2018). These are the first CPUs from Intel, which bundle AMD’s on-board graphics.
The two chip-makers had announced in November 2017, that they would be putting aside their rivalry, and instead be teaming up to combat NVidia’s dominance in the graphics market.
The announcement of the new Intel Core i5 and i7 8th-gen SoCs are the first of these, for 2 in 1s, notebooks, and mini PCs.
The new Kaby Lake CPUs are part of the H-series chipsets, and will be available in 4 variants: i5 8305G and i7 (8705G, 8706G, 8708G, 8709G). All of these quad-core chips have 4GB HBM2 (high-bandwidth memory), and should help the next gen of gaming laptops to perform much faster, and have better battery life. In addition to the Radeon graphics, the chipsets will also have an Intel 630 HD Graphics as a secondary GPU.
According to a benchmark by Intel, the new chipset delivered 9.3 hours of battery life and was three times faster, when compared to a 3 year old laptop which had a Core i7 chip, NVIDIA GTX 950M GPU, and only managed 4.7 hours of battery life.

The processors support dual-channel DDR4-2400 RAM, and 8MB cache (with 6MB for the i5).
