The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 looks set to be the next big phone of the year, and we are not saying that because the previous leak suggested a huge 7.0-inch display. A new leak alleges that the Mi Max 3 will have wireless charging.
If this is true, this will make the Mi Max 3 the first phone from Xiaomi to support wireless charging. The leak hints that the phone will sport a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Mi Max 3 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, at least for one variant. Another variant with a Snapdragon 630 chipset is reportedly in the works. The Max 3 will be backed by a 5,500 mAh battery.
Regarding the cameras, the Max 3 will feature a Sony IMX363 sensor, or dual cameras from Samsung (S5K217 and S5K5E8 sensors) on the rear, and a S5K4H7 Samsung sensor for the selfie lens. This is where things get really interesting, because there is a 1.12-micron pixel PureCel based OmniVision 2281 sensor which is capable of Iris recognition. Yes, the leak suggests that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has an Iris Scanner.
The device has an IR Blaster and an LED notification light, like most Xiaomi devices. The phone will run on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI, but the leak suggests that the device may launch with a Nougat based firmware. The Mi Max 3 will support dual SIM cards, and dual SD cards.
What’s our take on this? The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 looks to be more of a flagship class device, even better than the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The only problem is, the device may not be affordable. We are speculating that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 pricing will be somewhere between 20,000 and 25,000 Rupees. But you never know, Xiaomi is extremely aggressive when it comes to pricing its phones, so it is possible that the price will be closer to that of the Mi Max 2, which was launched for Rs. 16,999.
