Pillars of Eternity Definitive Edition with all content from the game and free Deadfire DLC pack released

The Definitive Edition of Pillars of Eternity, which we reported about a week or two ago, is here. This is kind of similar to the Ultimate Edition, except that in addition to all content from the game, it also has a free DLC pack available, and is more affordable.

That being said, the free Deadfire DLC pack is also free for all owners of Pillars of Eternity.

The DLC contains 4 soulbound items, and some pirate outfits and weapons from the game's sequel, Pillars of Eterninty: II Deadfire.

Soulbound Items:

  • Company Captain's Cap
  • War Club of the Mataru
  • One-Eyed Molina's Gold-Fingered Spike-Finger
  • Belt of the Royal Deadfire Cannoneer

Other Unique Equipment:

  • Pirate Outfits:
  • Helmsman's Uniform
  • Deckhand's Uniform
  • Boatswain's Uniform
  • Sabre of the Seas
  • Fulvano's Blunderbuss

In addition to all this, you also get all bonus content from the Royal Edition in the Definitive Edition.

Obsidian Enterntainment, the studio which made the game, has apologized for the update's rather large download size, which is about 1.4GB in size. This was the explanation offered for it:

The way Unity handles any changes to code (no matter how small) is that it rebuilds a large chunk of the game and repackages it all together. The patch doesn't change the size of the game on your hard drive, but it is a big download.

Pillars of Eternity Definitive Edition has been priced at Rs.849 on Steam ($29.99), but is currently on sale for a discounted price of Rs. 637 ($17.99). The base game, Pillars of Eternity Hero Edition has been priced at Rs.729 (on sale for Rs.437  at the moment). The White March Part I and Part II have been priced at Rs.479 (on sale for Rs.287), while the Expansion Pass with both expansions is priced at Rs. 619 (on sale for Rs. 371).

If you already own the game, you can get the Deadfire Pack DLC for free from the Steam page. It will be free for both current and future owners of the game.

The Definitive Edition is also available on GOG. But there is no discount there.
