Indian Home Ministry Warns About 42 Chinese Apps

By considering the Inputs from the RAW (Research And Analysis Wing) and NTRO (National Technical Research Organisation)  Indian Home Ministry issued a nation wide warning for security and high end officials. It warns especially Army and  Paramilitary forces to stop using certain Android applications developed by Chinese Companies to avoid a cyber attack over mobile phones. This includes True Caller, Xiaomi products, UC browser and many more. There are 42 applications listed in the advisory. You can see the application list below

The advisory says

"As per reliable inputs, a number of android/IOS apps developed by Chinese developers or having Chinese links are reportedly either spyware or other malicious ware. Use of these apps by our force personnel can be detrimental to data security having implications on the force and national security."
