HTC Desire 540 (A17) with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and Sense 8.0 reportedly in the works

HTC is preparing to launch a new entry-level phone in its Desire series, codenamed the A17. The news comes from renown HTC leaker Llabtoofer, who aslo hinted that the phone will be released alongside the HTC Acadia (HTC Bolt).

The HTC Bolt is touted to run on Andorid 7.0 Nougat with HTC’s own Sense 8.0 UI, but the HTC Desire A17 will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and Sense 8.0. Now, coming to the A17, it is likely the HTC Desire 540, because  the HTC Desire 530 had the codename A16. The desire 530 and was launched earlier this year, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB storage + up to 256GB expandable memory, a 5.0-inch 720p HD display, 8mp and 5 mp cameras. The phone was launched for a budget friendly price of $159.99 for the unlocked variant.

So, the upcoming HTC Desire 540, should be a minor upgrade over its predecessor, with a similar price tag. There is no word yet, as to when the phones will be launched.
