Mozilla has announced that they will be launching some incredibly inexpensive smartphones that run on Firefox OS, in India.

According to Mozilla Taiwan CEO & Company COO Gong Li, the phones will cost up to $50 (Rs, 3,000), and will hit the Indian market in July.
The company will be selling their phones through 10 retail chains, in the Country. The phones are powered by cost-efficient chips developed by Spreadtrum Communications. LG, Huawei, ZTE, Alcatel, are some of the manufacturers who will be launching their Firefox OS phones.
Li said that Mozilla has sold about 1 million Firefox OS phones, and aims to sell 10 million next year.
Mozilla have also partnered with Taiwan-based Foxconn Electronics & VIA Technologies to develop Firefox OS Tablets, and with Panasonic to create Firefox Smart TVs.
