This will come as a huge shock to BlackBerry users, as the company which is struggling to survive, has lost one of it’s key men.

Report has it that, Bocking (pictured on the right of ex-CEO Thorsten Heins) was unhappy with the way things were going on at the company, and he had even gone to the extent of replacing his BlackBerry phone with an Android phone.

But other rumors said that he had been fired, because the company was merging the BBM group into the Enterprise unit.

BlackBerry made the following announcement, in a statement released to BGR.

I can confirm that Andrew Bocking, EVP, BBM has made the decision to leave BlackBerry. We thank him for his years of leadership and contribution.

Later, popular blog Crackberry, reported that Bocking was not fired, and he had resigned from the company of his own volition.

BBM fans will be considerably upset and worried about the future of their beloved IM.
