Android 7.0 Nougat update for HTC 10 could be released by December, followed by the One M9 in January

The HTC 10 is perhaps the most underrated flagship phone of 2016, if not, of all time. The oft-overlooked device, will soon be running the latest version of Android, according to a rumour.

Russian leakster, LlabTooFer, who specializes in HTC leaks, has said that the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the HTC 10 will be released in late November, or early December.

This will make it one of the first flagships to get the Android 7.0 Update, if we don't consider the beta tests that Samsung, OnePlus and a few others have released (or announced) for their own high end phones. If that is not enough, the leaker also hinted that HTC will be rolling the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the HTC One M9, as well. The 2015 flagship phone, will get the update in late December or early January, and that the firmware is currently in a test phase.

With Android 7.1’s release just around the corner, this is pretty good news for HTC 10  and HTC One M9 users, unless you have a carrier variant like that of Verizon, which will get the update later. If only more OEMs were like this, it could well eradicate the fragmentation problem of Android.
