K-Meleon Browser development starts again

K-Meleon light browser

Earlier we have posted two articles about the memory usage of browsers and also some alternative light weight browsers. which you can read here Memory usage of the browsers - Lightest browser and 3 Alternate Browsers - Lightweight browsers.

K-Meleon is an open source browser which uses the Gecko engine developed by Mozilla.

K-Meleon is one of the lightest browser in the list, but they stopped the development on 2012 (Last release was on 12/12/2012). After a year they started the development again and released the first beta on 16th January 2014.  Now on 8th August they have released the first release candidate after 3 Beta releases. The application do not have a 64 bit version.

You can read more and get the K-Meleon 74 Beta 4/ RC from here. Remember the latest version is in Release candidate stage which may have bugs and may not even work as expected. So if you were a K-Meleon user earlier we would like to hear from you about the new development. Leave a comment.
