Firefox 28 released, adds support for VP9 Video, Notification Center for Web Notifications in Mac OS & more

Mozilla have released version 28 of Firefox for Desktop and Mobile apps.

The update does not feature any major changes, however it brings a few security fixes.

Here is what's new in Firefox 28:

  • VP9 video decoding implemented
  • Mac OS X: Notification Center support for web notifications
  • Horizontal HTML5 audio/video volume control
  • Support for Opus in WebM

Firefox 29 is scheduled for an April release, and is expected to bring the Australis Interface, which features a Chrome like UI for Firefox.

You can download the 13.7 MB update from your browser directly by clicking on Help>About.
